Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake, Morgan Stanley and the catering company "Have Party ... Will Travel," are partnering to make sure that kids don't go to bed on an empty stomach this summer.
Morgan Stanley has awarded Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake $55,000 for their "Million Meal Summer" program to provide meals, at cost, to supplement the club's current dinner program. Children receive dinner three times each week, but with the help of "Have Party ... Will Travel," kids at two clubs now receive a sack dinner the remaining two day through Aug. 14.
Approximately 16,800 meals will be served at the Salt Lake locations," said Carrie Francis, clubs director of operations. "This project will help ensure that in addition to the lunches and snacks we provide, our members will also have a healthy, well-balanced dinner five nights each week."
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake for 40 years have provided fun, help with school, healthy lifestyle choices and leadership for children ages 6 to 18. The clubs' mission is "to inspire and enable the youth in our communities, especially those who need us most, to become caring and responsible individuals through guidance-oriented adult relationships and engagement in a variety of enriching activities within a safe environment."
