Assault in the Ring (11 p.m., HBO): Fascinating, disturbing documentary about the infamous 1983 fight between Billy Collins Jr. and Luis Resto. Resto upset the undefeated Collins, but it was discovered that the padding had been illegally removed from Resto's gloves by his trainer, Panama Lewis. The brutally beaten Collins went into a tragic downward spiral, and Resto's life was forever changed.

Defying Gravity (8 and 9 p.m., Ch. 4): The first two episodes of this series about a group of astronauts on a six-year mission through the solar system that's a rather odd amalgam of soap opera, science fiction and adventure. And it's better than it sounds.
The Storm (8 p.m., Ch. 5): The conclusion of this not-so-hot disaster movie.
Army Wives (8 and 10 p.m., Lifetime): Claudia Joy accompanies Haneen back to the Middle East.
Blood Ties (10 p.m., HBO): Jason tries to get out of the Fellowship of the Sun.
Blood in the Water (10 p.m., Discovery): A series of shark attacks in 1916 provided the inspiration for "Jaws."
The Next Food Network Star (10 p.m., Food): A winner is declared in the season finale.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (10 p.m., USA): A model is murdered.
