SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento River Cats rallied with three runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 4-2 Pacific Coast League victory over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday night.
The Bees led 2-0 before starting pitcher Trevor Bell issued a one-out walk to Brett Wallace in the sixth inning. Aaron Cunningham followed with a single to left and both runners scored on a double into the right-field corner by Eric Munson to tie the game. Chris Denorfia put Sacramento in front as he doubled home Munson with the go-ahead run.
Meanwhile, the Salt Lake bats went quiet, as three River Cats pitchers combined to retire the last 17 batters they faced.
Bell (3-4) took the loss, as he allowed four runs on nine hits in 61?3 innings with three walks and two strikeouts.
The Bees grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second on an RBI single by Abel Nieves and a run-scoring groundout by Ryan Budde. Matt Brown had two hits for Salt Lake, which managed only five singles in the game.
