As Charles Krauthammer noted in his column (July 26), health-care reform must include tort reform. One of the reasons health-care costs have skyrocketed is because of the ridiculously high malpractice premiums doctors must pay, which they then pass on to their patients.
If President Barack Obama really wants to reform health care, then tort reform must be a part of the discussion. Yet it is not. And why is this? Probably because our president and most of our senators and congressmen are lawyers, and they are not about to turn on their own.
We must demand our senators and congressmen and, yes, even Obama, bring tort reform to the health-care reform table.
