NEW YORK — David Alan Grier is joining the cast of David Mamet's (MAM'-eht) Broadway-bound play "Race."
The 53-year-old actor will star in the production along with the previously announced James Spader (SPAY'-dur), Richard Thomas and Kerry Washington. "Race" opens Dec. 6 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Preview performances begin Nov. 16. Mamet will also direct.
Grier has appeared in films such as "A Soldier's Story," "Streamers" and "The Woodsman."
Producer Jeffrey Richards has declined to talk about the plot of "Race," but said earlier this year: "The title is self-explanatory."
