LAYTON — The city will start off the new season of family recreation events with a barbecue Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Drive.
Free tickets are available now and can be picked up at the Layton Parks and Recreation office. Along with dinner will be the season-opening puppet show "Adventures in Verde Land" at 7 p.m.
The puppet show will also be put on Saturday, Aug. 15, 22 and 29. All shows start at 10 a.m. in the Ed Kenley Amphitheater.
