Six finalists have been selected to have a chance to sing the national anthem at a Los Angeles Dodgers game on Aug. 6.

A talent contest called "LDS Open Auditions" was held this summer to choose a singer to perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the baseball teams annual "Mormon Night at Dodger Stadium."

More than 700 Mormon singers sent in audition CDs and DVDs, and judges narrowed down the entries to 80 semifinalists, who were invited to live auditions in Los Angeles or Salt Lake City on July 22. Singers flew in from around the country at their own expense. The six finalists all hail from Utah and Arizona.
