Real Salt Lake fans will see local players at All-Star Game

Real Salt Lake is very well represented at this year's MLS All-Star Game with three all-stars, and at least one figures to be in the starting line-up.

All-Star coach Dominic Kinnear will likely make his final lineup decisions prior to today's morning practice at Rio Tinto Stadium, and an RSL player figures to be among them.

"I'm sure there will be a Salt Lake guy in the starting 11 and all three guys I'm sure they'll see time. It's going to be a good night for Salt Lake fans and hopefully it's a good night for MLS," said Kinnear.

The Houston Dynamo coach reiterated that the most important thing is to put a healthy team on the field. With league games this weekend for almost all the all-stars as well, Kinnear doesn't want to overwork anybody either.

It's why RSL's Kyle Beckerman probably won't be in the starting lineup, and perhaps three other all-stars. Chad Marshall, Stuart Holden, Davy Arnaud and Beckerman started and played in Sunday's Gold Cup final in New York against Mexico. There's no telling how much gas they'll have left in the tank against Everton.

"I think I'll have a little bit, I'll give it my best," said Beckerman.

Conversely, a guy like Seattle's Freddie Ljungberg might be able to play the full 90 minutes considering he's suspended for this weekend's league match.

LATE ARRIVALS: Seattle's Kasey Keller and Los Angeles' Landon Donovan were the only two MLS All-Stars missing at Monday's training session in Park City.

Keller had a previously scheduled engagement but he's scheduled to join his MLS teammates this morning. Donovan, meanwhile, is nursing a slight injury and is receiving treatment back in Los Angeles. He was expected to arrive in Utah on Monday, but it raises questions about whether he'll be in the starting lineup.

If he's unavailable Kinnear said replacing him will be tough.

"It makes your team not as good as it could be because in my opinion he's the best player in the league," said Kinnear.

ALL-STAR SELL-OUT: Wednesday's MLS All-Star Game at Rio Tinto Stadium is officially a sell-out. The league made the announcement at Monday's all-star preview press conference.

There was some concern the match wouldn't sell out with RSL resorting to several discounted ticket packages in the past week, but ultimately those deals probably led to the sell-out.
