WEST VALLEY CITY — Police say two men showed up at Pioneer Valley Hospital over the weekend, suffering from stab wounds after both were reportedly attacked in the same area.

But neither victim has been willing to give much information to police.

A man in his early 20s showed up at the hospital with a stab wound to his arm just after 2:30 a.m. Friday, said West Valley Police Capt. Tom McLachlan. The man claimed he was trying to break up a fight at a party near 3200 West and 3500 South, but he refused to give any more information, including a description of who possibly stabbed him, McLachlan said.

The man had his injury stitched and was later released.

A short time after the first man arrived, another stabbing victim came to the hospital. That man had been stabbed in the chest, McLachlan said. The man told police he was walking in the area of 3200 West and 3500 South when he was "jumped by unknown suspects" and stabbed.

The man was transported to University Hospital for further treatment. Like the first man, he, too, was not cooperative with investigators, McLachlan said.

Detectives went to the area but did not find any leads. Anyone with information about the two stabbings can call police at 801-840-4000.
