BOUNTIFUL — A woman's leg was run over Thursday evening while she was participating in the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade.
The woman, 36, was walking next to a jeep as part of an entry in the parade when she dropped some candy, Bountiful Police Cpl. Kerry Bell said.
"She dropped some of the candy, reached down to pick it up, and her leg got run over," Bell said.
The woman most likely suffered a broken leg or ankle, according to Bell.
The accident happened near 300 South and Main Street and stopped the parade momentarily while medical crews cared for the woman, Bell said.
Medical crews addressed the situation and quickly rushed the woman to the hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.
