OGDEN — A 20-year-old man was arrested Friday for allegedly kicking out the window of a police car and cutting the face of a police officer.
Police initially arrested Liam Hughes Neve for unlawful consumption and disorderly conduct. As soon as police arrived to arrest Neve, he gave them trouble, said Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg.
"Neve kept complaining and didn't like the way things were happening," Sangberg said. "After they put him in the police car, he started kicking in the window."
Officers were standing outside the car. Eventually, Sangberg said, the window broke, shattering the glass and cutting the face of police officer Christopher Edwards. The worst cut was "right between the eyes," and for that wound, Edwards had to have "about four stitches."
The other arresting officer, Jared Francom, also sustained minor cuts.
Following that incident, Neve was also booked for investigation of assault by a prisoner, in addition to disorderly conduct and unlawful consumption.
