'Ballerina' leads list of new DVDs

The following DVDs will be released Tuesday, unless otherwise specified:

"Ballerina" (First Run, $24.95) — Documentary feature from 2006, about Russia's Mariinsky Theatre. Russian with subtitles.

Not rated, probable G (nothing offensive)

"Coraline" (Universal, $29.98) — ★★★1/2 — This animated fantasy film might be a little much for young viewers, but it's visually inventive.

Special features: Two-disc collector's edition ($34.98) features footage cut from theatrical release, behind-the-scene minidocumentaries, digital copy of film for home-electronics devices.

PG (violence, vulgarity, slurs, nude artwork)

"Echelon Conspiracy" (Paramount, $29.98) — Shane West and Martin Sheen star in this paranoia thriller.

PG-13 (violence, sex, profanity)

"The Great Buck Howard" (Magnolia, $26.98) — ★★ — A too-predictable show-business comedy starring Colin Hanks.

PG (vulgarity, slurs, mild profanity, violence, brief drugs)

"Messengers 2: The Scarecrow" (Sony, $24.96) — Direct-to-DVD sequel to the 2007 horror movie.

R (violence, sex, nudity, profanity)

"Sherman's Way" (Vivendi, $19.99) — Odd Couple road comedy from 2008, starring James Schulman and James LeGros.

Not rated, probable R (vulgarity, profanity, violence, brief nudity)

"Super Capers" (Lionsgate, $19.98) — Direct-to-DVD comedy starring Justin Whalin as a would-be superhero.

PG (mild profanity, vulgarity, violence)

"Visioneers" (Virgil Films, $19.95) — Zach Galifianakis ("The Hangover") stars in this direct-to-DVD, futuristic comedy.

Not rated, probable R (violence, profanity, vulgarity)

"Watchmen" (Warner, $28.98) — ★★★ — It's doubtful that anyone will walk out of this graphic superhero tale without a strong opinion.
