Snowbird also offers a variety of summer activities for the entire family, including the aerial tram, Peruvian chairlift and tunnel (weather permitting), Alpine Slide, four-station climbing wall, ZipRider, bungee trampoline, mechanical bull, inflatable castle and slide. An all-day activities pass costs $32 for adults and $19 for children, which includes unlimited use of rides. Most activities run from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

New for this year is the Wasatch Mining Company Gemstone Mine, where participants can strike it rich by panning for real gemstones in Snowbird's own mining sluice. Prices start at $6.

BOATING SAFETY URGED

As the boating season gets busier at Utah lakes and reservoirs, Utah State Parks boating education specialist Chris Haller reminds boaters to follow Utah's speed and proximity law.

This law requires boat operators to remain at a slow, wakeless speed whenever they are within 150 feet of another boat, a person floating on the water, a towed waterskier, shore anglers, a launch ramp, a dock or a designated swimming area. Personal watercraft are considered boats.

"This is probably the most violated boating law and cause of a number of boating accidents each year," said Haller. "By maintaining a safe distance at all times, boat operators can reduce accidents and injuries."

TWILIGHT GOLF RATE

MIDWAY — The Soldier Hollow Golf Course at Wasatch Mountain State Park is offering 18 holes of golf with a cart starting after 3 p.m. for $29.

This offer is good Sundays through Thursdays and is not valid with any other special fees, promotions or group events, and there is no nine-hole rate. The discount is available only at Soldier Hollow Golf Course and is valid through Labor Day.

FULL MOON HIKE

MIDWAY — A full moon hike will be held on Friday, Aug. 7, along the Heber Valley Overlook Trail at Dutch Hollow.

Join the park naturalist on a two-mile round trip beginning at 8:30 p.m. to discuss nocturnal wildlife and some of the adaptations that allow them to navigate through the dark.

Hikers should bring a flashlight, water and snacks and should dress for the weather.
