BLM plans controlled burn near Randolph
A controlled fire will fell coniferous trees in Rich County on Wednesday, the Bureau of Land Management said in a statement.
The fire will burn a 34-acre area just north of Randolph and is expected to last for one day. Fire crews will monitor and mop up the area for two days following the burn to ensure the fire is contained.
BLM officials said the prescribed burn will reduce the encroachment of coniferous trees on aspen trees in the area.
