HUNTSVILLE, Weber County — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a suspect in the December slaying of a Layton woman who was killed and left in a cemetery.
On July 10, a warrant for the arrest of Gutberto Heras-Corrales was issued in 2nd District Court, Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson said. The warrant was issued for first-degree felony murder, according to Anderson.
Heras-Corrales was named a suspect early on in the investigation, the sheriff's office has said.
Noemi Rodriguez, 26, was found dead under a pile of snow on Dec. 26 by a snowplow driver working at Cemetery Point in Huntsville, the sheriff's office said. Investigators believe she was likely killed on Christmas day.
Heras-Corrales was Rodriguez's ex-boyfriend.
The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help with any information that might assist them in apprehending Heras-Corrales. Anyone with information regarding his location is being asked to contact the Weber County Sheriff's Office at 801-778-6631.
