Sentencing for a con man who ran to avoid being sent to prison has been continued.

Jeffrey Geddes was scheduled to be sentenced Friday, but was pushed back until Aug. 7 by prosecution and defense attorneys.

Geddes, 40, admitted to swindling Zions Bank and other banks out of an estimated $30 million. Prosecutors say Geddes purchased a long list of luxury items, including jewelry and sports cars. He has said he now cannot afford an attorney after federal officials seized his remaining assets.

Geddes faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to 52 counts of bank fraud and four counts of wire fraud. On the morning of his original sentencing date last March, Geddes admitted to cutting off his GPS ankle monitor. He was later captured by U.S. marshals at an American Indian reservation casino just outside San Diego.

Geddes could face additional prison time for fleeing federal custody. Marshals say Zions was able to recover most of its losses, but more than $7 million remains unaccounted for.
