Douse flag spectacle

As an Eagle Scout, a naval officer, a Vietnam-era veteran and a patriotic American, I take issue with the new trend of making a public spectacle of burning retired U.S. flags. I think this sends a strange message to many people, including the young and foreigners who don't understand exactly what the whole event is about. We see enough flag burning by radical jihad terrorists already.
