Utah County man arrested in sex assault on girl

PROVO — A Utah County man was arrested Wednesday in the sexual assault of a minor at gunpoint.

The girl, 17, said she was at the man's house in Springville when he pointed a gun at her head and sexually assaulted her, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court. She also said the man put the barrel of the gun in her mouth.

Police searched the man's home Thursday and found a loaded 22 rifle and drug paraphernalia, including marijuana seeds, which the man told police were his. But he denied forcing the minor to do anything, according to the report.

Jason Sallee was booked into jail for investigation of sexual assault, unlawful detention, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. Bail was set Friday for $9,999 cash only.
