Course description: If you've ever driven I-15, you couldn't have missed the Paradise course just to the east of the freeway as you pass Fillmore. The layout is flat with a lot of mature trees along a creek that runs through the course. The greens are large, and most holes have plenty of driving area. The par-3 No. 4 hole has tees from two completely different angles depending on the day, and No. 5 can stretch to 610 yards. "We have a lot of flexibility with the tee boxes," said Ron Abegglen. "We can make the course short and comfortable or make it long and tight."
Fun fact: With its location right by the freeway, about 65 percent of the business comes from people who stop coming or going from Salt Lake. Abegglen says a lot of truckers will park in the large parking lot and play a round.
Holes to remember: No. 8 is the "moat" hole with water in front and on both sides of a large, wide green. The hole is a risk-reward hole, short enough at under 300 yards that long hitters might be able to drive the green, but there's not much leeway with water on three sides. No. 9 is the par-5 that parallels the freeway with three lakes along the left side and an undulating green.
