Real Salt Lake: XanGo, RSL to continue sponsorship deal
SANDY — Real Salt Lake announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with XanGo to extend that company's front jersey-sponsorship agreement with the club through the 2013 season.
RSL and XanGo originally signed a four-year deal that began in 2007, and the two sides agreed to renew that agreement for three more years.
"For our organization, there's positives all around," said RSL president Bill Manning at the press conference, which featured dignitaries from RSL and XanGo. "Financially, it's very important for us to have a jersey-front sponsor and to have that kind of dedication for another four seasons. Secondly, from a branding standpoint, it's very important we have the same company on our jersey front for another four years. ... Last, they're a great partner."
XanGo, makers of XanGo juice, which is distributed throughout the world, has invested heavily in Real Salt Lake since 2006. RSL coach Jason Kreis pointed out that XanGo has contributed to RSL in three main areas: It's helped bring in some of the world's biggest soccer clubs to play RSL, it's helped secure a practice field for the club and it's become the club's jersey sponsor.
