OGDEN — A South Ogden man died Monday after the car he was riding in was T-boned by another vehicle, police said.

William Frank Thompson, 89, died Monday following a two-car collision at 31st Street and Grand Avenue around 10:40 a.m., said Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg. He said Thompson was riding in a Toyota Camry that was driven by his wife, Colleen Hope Thompson, 79, when she ran a red light. The car was hit by a Chevy Tahoe heading east through the intersection.

Colleen Thompson sustained some injuries and was treated for a few broken ribs at McKay-Dee Hospital. The driver of the Tahoe, Jana Toole, was treated for some minor injuries at the scene of the crash.

Police have not issued any citations in the crash, and Sangberg said it is doubtful they will do so.

"It's pretty obvious who is at fault," he said. "We could issue citations, but we probably won't as the loss of her husband is hard enough."
