Utes get commitment from Missouri guard

The Utah basketball team has received a commitment for the 2010-11 season from guard Preston Guiot of Bolivar, Mo.

The 5-11, 175-pound Guiot is the son of Southwest Baptist coach Jeff Guiot, whose team knocked off Utah in last year's season-opener at the Huntsman Center. He was a second-team all-state selection for Bolivar High School, where he averaged 24.8 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

Last week, Guiot was on hand for Utah's Elite Basketball camp, but sat out most of the time with a foot injury. The Utes expect to have two more scholarships available for the 2010-11 season.
