Two charged with abusing their grandmother
Two Salt Lake City men were charged Tuesday with hitting their grandmother and urinating on her and her clothing.
Michael Levi Hansen Jr., 20, and Christopher Eugene Hansen, 22, were charged in 3rd District Court with aggravated abuse or neglect of a disabled or elder adult, a third-degree felony, as well as lewdness and criminal mischief, both class B misdemeanors.
On July 1, the grandmother, 66, who lives with her two grandsons, was in the shower when Christopher Hansen "forced the door open and began throwing bottles of shampoo and baby powder at her," the charges state.
Prosecutors say Christopher Hansen then punched his grandmother in the face and pushed her into the bathtub, which caused her to fall and hit her head.
"Christopher urinated on (his grandmother), left the bathroom and damaged a cabinet in the living room," the charges state.
As the grandmother was leaving the bathroom, Michael Hansen shoved and hit her and then urinated on her clothing, according to the charges. He also began punching holes in the walls.
An officer reported that he observed bruising on the woman's face and a laceration on her head. He also saw that walls and a cabinet were damaged, and there was shampoo and baby powder thrown around the bathroom, according to the charges.
