In his letter published July 6, Paul Keil's comments are very disrespectful and even borderline libelous of two extremely intelligent and generous men. The LDS Church has given a lot of money and more to the Catholic Church. Does that mean they are trying to bribe them or buy them out? Sounds silly doesn't it?
Jon Huntsman Sr. has done so much with his money toward cancer research. People come here from all over the country. To suggest that an ambassadorship to China was "bought" by making a contribution to the Democratic Party is absolutely ludicrous.
Doesn't Mr. Keil realize the importance of having a good relationship with China? There are precious few people with a good standing with China, and Jon Huntsman Jr. has the qualifications to fill that position.
Mr. Keil owes both Huntsmans an apology. While he's at it, maybe he could disclose all of his donations and contributions for the last 10 years.
