Revere the deserving

Michael Jackson! Michael Jackson! What's with all this worldwide media hype about Michael Jackson? You would think the Messiah had been crucified. I'm sick and tired of watching and listening to it.

What did M.J. ever do constructively for this nation and the world? Did he ever make an important invention or create a cancer or diabetes cure? No. He taught our youths how to moon walk and how to sleep with numerous young boys. Big deal!

So he was found not guilty of child molestation. So what? That didn't prove anything. He paid one boy $25 million in an out-of-court settlement. O.J. Simpson was also found not guilty of killing his wife, Nicole, and Ron Goldman. The whole world knows better.

My point is that we've got our values all screwed up. We need to start revering our Founding Fathers and our Medal of Honor winners, etc., instead of M.J., Elvis Presley, and their kind.
