SOUTH SALT LAKE — It was an easy arrest for police looking for a burglar here over the weekend.

Police were called to KFC, 3890 S. State, just before 7 a.m. Saturday on a report of a break-in, said South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller.

When they got there, they found Santana Yazzie, 21, drunk and passed out in the manager's office, Keller said. He was so intoxicated, police say, that they had to first take him to the hospital before booking him into jail for investigation of burglary and vandalism.

Yazzie found a door that hadn't been shut properly and walked into the restaurant, Keller said. He got to the manager's office, where he pulled books off shelves and poured cooking oil all around, he said. It appeared Yazzie also attempted to get out by going through a window but was unsuccessful.

"He broke in but was too drunk to do anything," Keller said.
