A man was shot to death in Liberty Park, and Salt Lake police strongly believe it was suicide.

A passerby discovered the man's body in the park Sunday morning. Detective Dennis McGowan said it isn't clear yet when the man was shot between Saturday evening and the following morning. The autopsy will provide a better idea of when the man's life ended.

"We have no indication that there was any sort of foul play," he said. Police did not find a suicide note.

Out of deference to the man's family, Salt Lake police are not releasing any information about the man.
