Restaurant raising money for girls, boys club
School's out for summer, but patrons of the Old Spaghetti Factory in Salt Lake City can help the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake keep education, life skills, art, sports, fitness and recreation programs going all year by contributing $1 during the month of July.
The contribution is good for a coupon redeemable for garlic cheese bread on the customer's next visit and will also help the 40-year-old, 14-state restaurant chain maintain its commitment to helping the 10,000 kids in clubs across the country who depend on them as a place to do homework, play and have a safe place to go this summer and after school this fall.
With the economy challenging everyone, it's difficult to give even a little cash, said LeAnn Saldivar, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake president and CEO. But the neighborhood and community connections that are made through the clubs and carry on throughout life are needed now more than ever and every little bit will help sustain them.
