A Utah Highway Patrol trooper and a tow truck driver were injured on I-80 westbound near the Olympic Parkway exit on Sunday evening while working at a minor crash site.

Park City Tow was hooking a "toy hauler" to its tow truck when the hauler was struck from behind by an Audi A4. According to a release from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the impact pushed the hauler into trooper Thomas Simpson and the tow truck operator, who were standing in front of the hauler.

Simpson received a cut on his left wrist that required stitching, and the tow truck driver suffered a badly broken right arm.

The driver of the Audi had fallen asleep at the wheel and was not seriously injured.
