I woke up early on Independence Day looking forward to the holiday, enjoying the sight of the flag proudly erected on my lawn. At 9 a.m., I thought I'd turn on the television and find a parade, perhaps live coverage of the big parade in Provo. To my disappointment, nowhere on any of DirecTV's multitude of channels was a patriotic parade to celebrate our nation's independence.
Why couldn't one of the local channels have covered the parade in Provo? Our nation's birthday deserves better!
