VERNAL — The Ashley National Forest says personal-use firewood permits are on sale.

Forest officials say the permits, sold at all U.S. Forest Service offices and at various vendors, will be available until Dec. 20.

The minimum firewood permit is four cords for $25.

Those who gather firewood need to have a signed permit in their possession. Before leaving the area where the wood is cut, a product quantity removal record on the permit must be completed.

The permits went on sale on June 1.
