Guv not much help
The headline "Governor gone but is still in charge" raises a serious, perhaps disturbing, question. The loss of 7,000 uniformed jobs at Hill Air Force Base was just announced following the administration's cuts of the F-16 and F-22 programs. This puts Hill's very existence at serious risk, with new base closures coming in 2012.
If our governor is "still in charge" and is "doing everything he can to assure" Utah's best interests, yet is at the same time so friendly with the Obama administration, why are we now facing even more devastation?
The specter of additional civilian job loss, business downturns, empty homes and businesses and loss of tax base seems more sure than ever now.
