EUREKA, Juab County — The state Division of Water Quality has taken more samples from Eureka's water system after a test last week revealed trace amounts of E. coli.

The town of fewer than 1,000 residents in Juab County has been under a boil-water order since a test at a resident's home was positive for E. coli. Officials have spent $2,000 to install a temporary chlorinating system.

The E. coli bacteria can sicken those who ingest it, causing headaches, nausea and cramps. It can be fatal to those with weakened immune systems.
