Sen. Al Franken. Get used to it. Or get over it, as the case may be.
Franken's opponent, Norm Coleman, gave a moving concession speech. He apologized to his family and told how his mistress was his soul mate, but that he would try to love his wife again and — whoops, wrong Republican.
Coleman told Franken that senator is the best job that he, Franken, will ever have. Right. Once you've schmoozed with Harry Reid on C-SPAN, you'll never want to go back to hangin' with Steve Martin on "SNL."
As a politician, the reinvented Franken becomes a comedian's target. What better sacrifice than to lay down your shtick for your country.
