STOCKTON — Four acres of Dry Canyon burned to a crisp Wednesday.

The fire began in the canyon, located three miles from Stockton, around 1:30 p.m. Fire officials have not yet determined how the fire started.

Firefighters contained about 70 percent of the fire by 4 p.m. and expected to have it contained later Wednesday evening, said Stockton Fire Chief Donald West.

"It was a pretty easy fire to contain," West said. No one in the surrounding area was evacuated or threatened by the fire.
