Utes get commitment from cornerback

Joseph Smith, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound cornerback from Norco High School in California, has given Utah an early recruiting commitment. Smith, who made 40 tackles (31 unassisted) and three interceptions last season, plans to sign a letter-of-intent with the Utes in February.
