Uppercase Living aims to inspire, letter by letter
Uppercase Living is the result of an entrepreneurial effort that harnessed the varying gifts of each of its founders.
Inger Erickson was a graphic designer and owner of a successful design company who was intrigued by the possibilities of decorative vinyl lettering. Stephanie Geisler was a professional writer and trainer who was as captivated as Erickson by the medium's potential for beautifying homes and inspiring people.
Together, Erickson and Geisler started Sandy-based Uppercase Living, but it was not until they brought in businessman Jeff Wilson that the company really began to take off.
The three founders formed the nucleus of Uppercase's success: Erickson's design flair and artistic vision; Geisler's love of words and natural business savvy; and Wilson's vision of growth through the best sales and manufacturing practices.
The founders knew decorative vinyl lettering would be most effectively sold through demonstrations rather than off-the-shelf or Web-based advertising. To that end, they recruited an able and enthusiastic sales force and trained them to represent Uppercase Living with competence and passion.
The three leaders also ramped up production and put in place a system of ongoing product innovation. Customers can choose from hundreds of designs and phrases in 50 fonts and 30 colors, with a wide choice of image-based embellishments.
Uppercase Living is now the leading provider in its field — a field in which it was, and continues to be, a pioneer.
