Utah Jazz announce summer league roster
The Utah Jazz announced the roster for their 2009 Orlando Pro Summer League team this afternoon and, as expected, the squad will include first-round pick Eric Maynor and second-rounder Goran Suton.
Center Kosta Koufos, last year's first-round pick, will also participate with the Jazz's summer-league team.
Utah's entry in the Orlando league, however, will not include big man Kyrylo Fesenko even though the Jazz recently picked up the team option for the third year of his rookie contract.
Several players with local ties will be on the Jazz team, which begins its mini-camp training Wednesday at RDV SportsPlex in Maitland, Fla.
Utah State standout Gary Wilkinson, who went undrafted after working out for the Jazz last week, will participate along with Kevin Lyde, a former Jazz camp participant, and Utah Flash players Kevin Kruger and Andre Ingram.
Others expected to be on the roster include former NBA players James Augustine, Cedric Bozeman and Justin Reed; first-year players Jim Baron, Josh Duncan, Wes Mathews, Reyshawn Terry and Larry Turner.
Derrick Brown, a second-round pick from Charlotte, will also be on the team because the Bobcats do not have their own summer-league team this year.
After canceling its own Rocky Mountain Revue this year, the Jazz opted to go to Orlando where they will play five games between July 6-10.
The host Magic, Boston, Indiana and Oklahoma City will also have teams along with a split squad comprised of players from New Jersey and Philadelphia.
Utah's first game is against Boston at 5 p.m. on July 6. Over the next four days, the Jazz will face the other four teams.
