Stimulus funding coming to health centers
First lady Michelle Obama announced Monday the release of $6.44 million in grants from the stimulus package to community health centers in Utah.
"These grants will help centers in Utah serve more Americans who simply can't afford insurance coverage anymore," she said.
The money will go to centers that treat people regardless of their ability to pay.
"Community health centers provide care to Americans who need it most and their work has never been more important," Obama said.
The grants are intended to help with facility and equipment needs and for efforts to increase access to health care.
