Hogle Zoo will honor members of the U.S. military with Military Appreciation Days Wednesday, July 1, through Friday, July 3.
On these days, military personnel, veterans and their immediate families (spouse and dependent children) get free zoo admission when showing military or veteran ID.
In honor of Independence Day, Hogle Zoo also will hold Salute our Military Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 3. There will be several military branches on grounds, as well as veterans' groups.
Other Salute our Military Day activities include:
Free American flags for the first 500 kids in the Main Plaza, courtesy of Colonial Flag.
Interactive demonstrations with military HMMVV (Humvee), five-ton transport vehicle and satellite radio equipment from Hill Air Force Base.
23rd annual Army Rock and Roll Band.
Flag-raising ceremony and hourly drill performances throughout the day by the Utah Wing Civil Air Patrol in the Main Plaza.
