SkyWest Airlines says it's discontinuing service between St. George and Los Angeles effective Sept. 2.

SkyWest Vice President Mike Thompson says soft demand for the twice-daily flights accounts for the decision.

The St. George-based airline says it will offer alternative flight plans for passengers who made reservations for a flight on the discontinued routes.

The airline says it has been forced to trim domestic schedules in other markets for the same reason.
