A 95-year-old Provo man, George Jarvis, was still missing Friday night, 11 hours after he left his residence for a morning walk.

"He left without any water or other items," police officials said Friday.

The man is known to take one-hour walks but went missing at 11:30 a.m.

"There is an extensive search going on right now," said Provo Sgt. Scott Jensen. "There have been sightings (of him) at Canyon View Park in Provo Canyon."

The man wears glasses and was wearing tan pants, a camouflage hat and "possibly" a flannel shirt.

The elderly man also walks hunched over and uses a collapsible cane, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Provo dispatch at 801-852-6215.
