WEST JORDAN — West Jordan will kick off its free summer movie series Friday with a showing of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" at Constitution Park, 7000 S. 3200 West. The original film starring Gene Wilder will begin at 8:45 p.m., and city residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.

The films will be shown July 3 and 4, respectively. A fireworks show on Independence Day will provide a bombastic finale for the festival.

"The Wizard of Oz" will be shown July 17 at the Soccer Complex, 7876 S. 4000 West. "E.T." will finish the free series with an Aug. 21 showing at the Ron Wood Baseball Complex, 6000 W. New Bingham Highway.
