AMERICAN FORK — Police arrested a man who they say stole go-karts and the electricity to go with them.
American Fork officers had been investigating a home burglary where two individuals broke into a shed and stole two go-karts, valued at nearly $5,000, according to a police affidavit.
One of the suspects came back later that night and broke into the victim's car, stealing more items and damaging the vehicle, police said.
A few weeks later, police got a call about another burglary at the same home. Police learned that the suspect had broken into the victim's garage and grabbed a power cord, according to the affidavit.
However, before he left, the suspect plugged it into one of the victim's outlets, then ran the cord over to the next-door-neighbor's apartment, where he and another burglary suspect were benefitting from the stolen power, police said.
The first man was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of burglary, vehicle burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
