Jazz pick up option on Fesenko for next season

Rather than wait until Monday, as previously planned, the Jazz said Friday they've exercised their third-year team option on reserve center Kyrylo Fesenko's rookie contract.

This is good news

maybe things are starting to change for the better. Fez is cheap insurance, can be played in special match ups, and might be able to develop into a decent defensive C with some offensive potential. His expiring contract can also be used in trades. More..

This gives the Jazz

a little insurance if they can't come to terms with Okur. In which case Koufos would have to start and Fez back him up until a better arrangement was made.

It also means that Koufos could get moved to back PF if Boozer walks and the Jazz More..
