Salt lake County Sheriff's deputies respond to major accident at 2820 South and 7200 West in Magna. Two vehicles involved with one driver being air lifted Thursday.

A man was in serious condition after his car was sideswiped by a pickup truck in Magna at 7200 W. 2820 South Thursday evening.
Unified Fire Authority Battalion Chief Stephen Judkins said that the pickup was travelling west at about 30 mph when the driver failed to stop at a red light. The truck collided with a passenger vehicle traveling south in the center of the intersection.
Emergency crews had to cut the male driver of the passenger car from his vehicle before he was flown by helicopter to University Hospital.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
