MOAB — A Moab man is missing after his canoe capsized Thursday on the Colorado River.
Two people were floating through a whitewater rapid outside of Moab around 10:45 a.m. when their canoe filled with water and capsized, according to a news release from Grand County Sheriff's Office.
One of the occupants was able to swim to safety on the west bank of the river. The other man, Jody Page, 35, was last seen in the middle of the rapid, "going down yelling for help," according to the news release. Neither individual was reported to be wearing any kind of flotation device.
Search and rescue crews have three river boats searching the area, and Grand County sheriff's deputies are searching on the shorelines.
