1. Chivas (8-2-3): The kings of 1-0 victories earned another over Seattle last weekend.

2. Houston (6-2-3): With a 6-0-2 record in past eight matches, the Dynamo are looking untouchable.

3. Chicago (5-2-6): Lost home to Houston, but had plenty of chances to equalize all night.

4. D.C. United (4-2-7): There's nothing like a game against New York to get a team back on track.

5. Colorado (4-2-5): Minus two best players, the Rapids still earned a road result at RSL.

6. Columbus (3-2-7): In the midst of a 3-0-5 streak since April two-loss West Coast swing.

7. Seattle (4-3-5): Ended string of five straight ties with a loss at Chivas USA.

8. L.A. Galaxy (2-1-9): Won just its second game last weekend, but still only has one loss.

9. Kansas City (4-5-4): Owns a 0-1-2 record since impressive win at Real Salt Lake on May 23.

10. New England (4-3-4): Back-to-back wins have the Revs back in the Eastern Conference pack.

11. Toronto FC (4-5-4): Woefully unpredictable, Toronto has lost two straight.

12. FC Dallas (2-6-4): Only 5,724 fans were on hand for last Sunday's tie with San Jose. Ouch.

13. San Jose (2-7-3): Were mere minutes away from an impressive road victory at Dallas.

14. Real Salt Lake (3-6-3): A seven-game winless streak just isn't good enough at this point.

15. New York (2-9-3): It's hard to imagine coach Juan Carlos Osorio lasting much longer.

Game of the week

Chivas USA at Houston

Tonight's midweek clash features the two best teams in MLS. Chivas USA leads the league with 27 points and a very stingy defense. The Dynamo, meanwhile, are 6-0-2 in their past eight matches and their seven goals against is tops in MLS.
