A power line pole fire has caused a power outage for more than 1,000 Salt Lake residents Tuesday.
Around 12:36 p.m. a pole fire, possibly caused by arcing on the power pole, left residents without power, according to Margaret Oler, spokeswoman for Rocky Mountain Power.
The outage is affecting areas from 1950 South to 2400 South and from Main Street to 400 East in Salt Lake City. Oler said crews are in the area and making repairs. Crews may have to completely replace the pole, but plan to have power restored to the area by the early evening, she said.
