SUGAR CITY, Idaho — A 19-year-old Provo woman was killed early Monday in a car accident in Idaho.

Just after 12:30 a.m., Idaho police say Kristan R. Lusvardi was traveling east on U.S. 20 and was just north of Sugar City when she drifted through the median and across westbound lanes of U.S. 20.

Her vehicle crossed all the lanes, went through a fence and came to rest in a ditch.

Police say she was transported by medical helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. She was the only person in the car and was not wearing a seat belt, according to investigators.

Police believe drugs and alcohol may be factors in the crash and are still investigating.
